Black is the color for politics

You are challenging, and have the "guts". But you don't like changes in your life. And once you make a decision, you keep it that way for a long time. This is a definition of black.

If I leaf through my wardrobe I will find a number of blacks. Pants, T-shirts, blouses etc etc etc. I like black. Everyone loves black. A universal color, accepted and welcomed by all.

Clothes designers love to play with black. Nuns and monks choose it for their divine attire. Behind a black backdrop and a dimly lighted stage you could not even see where the black-clad singer was. A black tuxedo and tie for a formal dinner. Middle Eastern women prefer black. The Orthodox Jews wear black. Lawyers wear black. Graduates gowned in black during their convocation. Not forgetting, black is the color for mourning, regardless of race.

I am wearing black today. From my hairband, my blouse, my pants, my stockings and my shoes to my undies. I feel like wearing black today. I have the right to choose the color of my attire today. Nobody dictates what color I should or should not wear.

Well, you will be arrested for wearing black if you are fighting for democratic right in Perak today. A blogger was arrested under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948 on Tuesday night for suggesting the public wear black in support of the wresting control of the Perak state government by the Barisan National from the Pakatan Rakyat.

The opposition party won the Perak seats during the recent election. Just because three traitors decided to jump ship, the BN decides the governing right to rule Perak belongs to them. The people of Perak viewed their rights to vote have been ridiculed. Why hold an election when the nation’s decision can be overridden.

Black is a sad color associated with gloominess, uncertainty and instability. This is the state of the Perak government today. Why the hunger for power? Why not peace? And this is politics. Politicians fighting all the while like kindergarten kids. How will the outside world view us? Aiya shame on you, boys.
