The American Idol

The topic under the most discussion at the moment is probably the finale of the American Idol. The Fly-FM DJs were furiously discussing about the ability and the chances of Adam Lambert and Kris Allen winning the American Idol this morning.

The winning song specially written for their performances which Kara proudly announced she co-wrote was not fully and beautifully delivered by the two finalists. Kris sounded beautiful at the start. He sang it so touchingly. You just felt serene, relaxed and comfortable as his voice brought out fond memories of past times. But when he hit the high notes his voice was coarse. He did not manage to bring out the melody of the song during that time. The song was meant for Adam. He delivered it in the style of a slow rock at the beginning. His voice was sharp and you got the feel of it. Excitement and high was how I felt. When it came to the high, he was in a rush with the lyrics. His voice sounded fierce and hurried. You pulled on your brakes and fell back on your cushions and Oh! What happened?

I think if this song is given to Leona Lewis she will give us a good satisfying day. You can just lay back, safe and sound and enjoy wherever the lyrics and music takes you. Let her melodious voice float you blissfully over Neverland in the beginning and when she reaches the high notes we will not jolt to awareness like Kris and Adam did to you. Instead she will gently glide you up the slope, lifting you up high above the mountains and let you absorb the euphoria of height and gently lay you down at the end utterly amazed. This will be the way I image Leona Lewis will sing it, with magnificence.

Kris Allen won the American Idol. He has an arresting voice which will attract a good number of anticipating listeners. As for Adam Lambert, he will also go far with this impressive voice and his theatrical, flamboyant performances.
