Last year on March 15, I purchased the Korean Drama "Save your last dance for me" from a video stall at S & M shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. This drama series comes in a box set with a postcard which has to be returned to the local distributor to redeem a "complimentary imported original soundtrack & MV". You have to fill in your particulars, answer the requested questions, attach the original sales receipt, enclose a RM1.00 stamped A4 sized white envelope and sent them to the distributor, Multimedia Entertainment Sdn Bhd in Kelang.
As the CD comes in a plastic casing and the possibility of breakage is most likely, I phoned their office to arrange for my courier service to pickup the package from their office on a reverse-charged basis. A Miss Ling attended to my call. She could not entertain my request. Then, could I collect it from their office personally? No, to this too. They have several promotions going on at the time and would only send out the CDs when the promotional period is over in May. I checked with them after their promotional period ended. I was informed the complimentary CDs were sent out.
Now, a year later I am still waiting for my complimentary OST.
Sometimes, I wonder whether they genuinely sent these complimentary CDs to their customers. By holding these CDs back, the company can sell them separately. And also the RM1.00 they stand to gain. If a customer wishes to collect the CD personally, what is the fuss? This is a great disappointment to me and I have since decided not to purchase any Korean drama series from this unethical distributor.
I wonder whether any of you out there encounter a similar problem like mine. Should we tolerate this kind of practice?
