The Ghost that followed me home

Albert, Belinda’s husband passed away. Seeing him lying stiffly in his coffin, his pallor still pinkish fair from the cool temperate climate, his face thin and haggard from pain and sufferings, brought on a sense of lost and sadness to me. He was only in his early forties. He could contribute so much to his family yet life was wrestled from him. Cancer had decided to pluck off his hope to prolong his tenure on earth to reduce him to a hapless shrivel.

It was during the economic slump in the early 90’s that had pushed him to seek a better financial stability in the US. Without his family to care for him, he let cancer deteriorated his health, seeking no medical attention but dependent on painkillers to cease his pains.

He was cremated at the Kampong Tunku Crematorium in Petaling Jaya. Suet Ben and I bid him a last farewell. A moment of grief swept over us upon seeing him rolled into the cremation chamber and the raging flames engulfed his coffin. He turned to ashes.

On the way home, I smelt a sweet scent in my car. Although I did not dabble with perfumes (so did Suet Ben) that scent stuck to me even when I reached home. Full of superstition, I thought “could it be the souls of the dead from the crematorium?” Bad thoughts clogged my mind. I was filled with uneasiness. Then the ‘demon’ manifested itself.

A consumer company had taken a full page in the Star to advertise their new product. The page was liberally sprayed with fragrance so strong it exploded into the atmosphere upon opening the page. It left a trail of pleasant odor wherever it went, influencing the ventilation in my car and house. At last I had found the ‘demon’ and fear left me. How daft I was to harbor silly thoughts. The same goes for Suet Ben.

The death of Albert did not bring laughter to us but this ‘ghost’ did.

Get a Mercedes today

Sometimes we like to think we are the only smart ones alive and that others are stupid. We can easily fool people because we think highly of ourselves. Others are country bumpkins still ignorant about the ways of the world. We thought we could sway people’s thinking by pumping lots of misleading information into their minds.

We are absolutely wrong. No one lacks intelligence today. We are not living under our coconut shells any more. We do not use attaps for our roofs where water seeped through during raining days. We built our houses with concrete materials for a steady and strong hold.

A Mercedes is cheaper to maintain? Even a kid knows a Mercedes is more expensive than a Proton Perdana. Thus to make a scratch on its body surface will cause daddy a ton to repaint. That means no toys until daddy gets over his shock and back to his financial footing.

Spare parts are easily accessible and cheaper? My boss’s Mercedes spares had to be imported from Germany. Are you kiddy a dump man, for he is incapable of answering you back?

If Mercedes are more affordable than locally manufactured Proton Perdana, all Malaysians can decorate their driveway with one. As for Proton, they can call it a day.

Living In Innocent Bliss

Recently Anwar Ibrahim was accused of reporting to the US on matters that happened in Malaysia. Only a dimwit is unaware of the current political situation here.

Spread open a newspaper, on the TV news or visit our country, any tourist will chance to glimpse the splendid performances our politicians staged during the parliamentary meetings. Because of YouTube their popularity soared. To capture a wide audience will depend on how notorious and callous they intended to display their behaviors to the public. I think they secretly enjoyed the comments and criticism the media and general public threw at them. It is immaterial whether the words that poured out of their mouths were sensible or worth pondering over. To be noticed is good enough to climb the political ladder. After all to be in public service, you need to be recognized to survive.

By opening our doors to the world, by employing foreigners to assist in our workforce, by inviting foreign companies to invest in our country, by welcoming other nations to set up their consulates here, we are allowing them the opportunity to share our lives. There are two solutions which may help to prevent our domestic problems from leaking to the outside world, by closing our doors to foreigners, and by banning the use of the internet.

This way outsiders can’t come in, we can’t go out. What an excellent way to keep our problems a secret. We can then live in innocent bliss under our coconut shells away from external influences and interventions.

Facebook

What makes Facebook so popular? People are crazy about. As usual, anything new in the internet is Christina's passion. She was drawn towards it and she finds it interesting and decided to woo me into her web of friends. When I informed her I would visit her today, she decided to sign me up.

Here I am a new recruit in Facebook. As of now I have 3 friends! I am not into socializing with strangers, finding them every insincere. But Facebook will give me the opportunity to be in contact with Irene and Emily. Wow, Emily has over a hundred friends. Maybe I can find my old classmates, if I can spare the time to explore.

What animals don't practice, we do

News broke out again about Anwar Ibrahim’s sexual preference. At this time to be part of his family, you’d be perimetered with shame, pity and scorn and probably sympathy. You’d need an extremely thick skin to withstand the arrows shot from all factions of society. Tears, they won’t even flowed out.

If he is innocent then it is cruel to intentionally tacked him as a sexual pervert. On the other hand if there is no smoke without fire, then what has surged him to adopt such a lifestyle.

God gave man this wriggly thing, which has a head of its own but no brains to control itself, to be embraced by a woman’s warm cocoon instead of the anus of its own kind. Making love to a woman fuels no passion, desire, excitement and satisfaction anymore. Man wants a more sensational diversion. It does not matter that the anus is the outlet for waste products, a tunnel home to multitudes of bacteria. As long as the strength of sexual release is more intense and gratifying going to hell is secondary.

We legalized gay marriages, rewriting laws for various reasons. To please ourselves, to win public votes, to be recognized as a compassionate person supporting individuals whose sexual needs are trapped in their bodies, to go down in history as someone who has diligently help to draft the law paving way for those who were once frowned upon as having abnormal behavioral problems but now acceptable by society.

The gay communities have fought furiously to carve a society for themselves. To progress with time we have become more resilient to their plight. Given the pressure, wanting a peace of mind, we let them have their way. What animals don’t practice, we do now because we are of a higher and more intelligent species than them. What will happen next?

Shall we legalized incest, child sex and animal sex? Any thing can happen in a society plaque with strong human rights movement. The majority always win.

We shouldn’t be blaming the monkeys for transmitting AIDs, we blame ourselves for helping spread them around.
